My name is Ari Hoenig, and I’m a jazz drummer living in Brooklyn, NY.
What does sustainability mean to you?
Sustainability to me is the ability to maintain a balance.
How do you incorporate sustainability into daily life as an artist?
I incorporate sustainability in many ways daily. I try to not buy and consume new things unless it’s necessary, I don’t buy bottles of water or drinks, and I try to eliminate plastics as much as possible. This includes not buying items packed in plastic at grocery stores. I also have been using my reusable bags for over 10 years, use public transportation whenever possible, and turn the lights/heat off when not needed.
What impact can artists have on sustainability?
Artists can spread the word on sustainability and get other people to be involved.
